Appleton United boys lacrosse stays unbeaten in Bay Valley Conference with win over Kimberly

APPLETON – The Appleton United boys lacrosse team overcame a one-goal halftime deficit and defeated Kimberly 6-4 in a Bay Valley Conference game on Thursday at Appleton East High School.

Kimberly (6-7, 5-2 Bay Valley) led 2-1 at halftime and the teams traded goals until Jaylen Kempfer put Appleton ahead 5-4.

A takeaway from Dane Willis with 1:50 remaining led to a goal from Roen Willis in the final minute to finish off the victory for Appleton.

Roen Willis had a hat trick and Trevin Schultz scored twice for Appleton, which is now 8-2 overall and 5-0 in the Bay Valley.

Appleton plays another conference game at Stevens Point on Friday at Goerke Field. Game time is 7 p.m.
