Xavier softball defeats St. Mary Catholic for third-straight win

APPLETON – The Xavier softball team won its third game in a row with a 7-1 victory over St. Mary Catholic in nonconference action Friday at Xavier High School.

The Hawks broke open a scoreless game with a five-run fourth inning and pitcher Morgan Staszak did the rest, holding St. Mary Catholic (8-7) scoreless until the seventh.

Elsa Dvoracek had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and Quinn Hervey and Jennifer Lueck each had two hits in the win for Xavier (6-6).

Xavier travels to Shawano for a Bay Conference game on Monday.
