Appleton North baseball rallies late to top Oshkosh West

APPLETON – Appleton North scored twice in the bottom of the sixth inning to break open a tie game and it went on to defeat Oshkosh West 7-5 in a Fox Valley Association baseball game Friday at North High School.
West (5-9, 3-7 FVA) led 4-1 before the Lightning scored four runs in the fifth, keyed by a two-run double by Nathan Ramus, to take the lead.
The Wildcats tied the game in the top of the sixth before North went ahead for good in the bottom of the frame as Aedan Waterstreet knocked in two runs with a single.
North pitcher Isaak L’Esperance shut down West in the seventh to finish off the win as the Lightning ends a three-game losing skid and improves to 11-4 overall and 7-3 in the FVA.
Ramus finished with two hits and three RBI for North.
Appleton North’s next game is Tuesday at home against Kaukauna.
