Wittenberg-Birnamwood shuts out Xavier softball in WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal

WITTENBERG – The Xavier softball team saw its season come to an end with a 14-0 loss to No. 1 seed Wittenberg-Birnamwood in a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal Tuesday at Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood pitcher Kendall Lex threw a five-inning three-hit shutout as the Chargers (22-4) move on to a regional final at home against No. 4 seed Nekoosa on Thursday.

Xavier finishes the season with a 9-11 record. The Hawks were held to three singles by Elsa Dvoracek, Kalia Stammer and Quinn Hervey.

Morgan Staszak took the pitching loss, finishing with two strikeouts.
