
Fox Valley Lutheran softball thumps Turner in WIAA state tournament Division 2 semifinal

MADISON – The Fox Valley Lutheran softball team will be playing for its first state championship after a dominating 8-0 win over Beloit Turner in a Division 2 semifinal at the 2026 WIAA State Softball Tournament on Friday night at the Goodman Softball Complex.
Madison Babcock was masterful in the circle, striking out nine with two walks and just two hits allowed as the Foxes (25-3) advance to the D-2 state championship game against Pewaukee (21-9) on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Olivia Fischer hit a solo home run in the second, and FVL poured on five more runs in the fourth and two in the sixth to pull away.
The Foxes had six hits in the big fourth inning eruption, with Lexi Hanson and Claire Pfrang knocking in runs with singles, and Babcock clearing the bases with a three-run double.
Babcock added another RBI double in the sixth and scored on a single by Natalie Bromm to provide the final score.
Babcock retired the final eight Turner batters in order and allowed just one hit after the second inning.
Tenley Wolfrath and Hanson each had three hits, and Pfrang, Babcock and Bromm all had two as the Foxes finished with 15 hits overall.
