Appleton Post 38 Legion baseball pitches two shutouts at Milton Tournament

MILTON – The Appleton Post 38 Legion baseball team picked up a pair of wins at the Milton Tournament on Sunday, defeating Milton 10-0 and Menomonie 1-0.
In the victory over Milton, Appleton cracked out 16 hits in just five innings and rolled to the win via the 10-run rule.
Isaac Ise was 4-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBI to lead the way for Post 38. Carter Hudson and William Malnar each added three hits and two RBI in the victory.
Mason Effa tossed a complete game four-hitter, striking out five with three walks.
Henry Ott threw four shutout innings against Menomonie, giving up just two hits, to earn Appleton’s second-straight shutout. The game was called after four innings due to rain.
Four walks in the second inning led to the game’s only run in the second inning for Appleton.
Appleton Post 38 will host the Appleton Doubledays 19U team on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Don Hawkins Field.
