Appleton Doubledays Legion baseball pounds Bay Port

SUAMICO – The Appleton Doubledays Legion baseball team picked up its third-straight win as blowing past Bay Port 13-3 on Monday night at Bay Port High School.
Appleton (8-2) put up six runs in the top of the first inning and rolled to the victory, scoring in five different frames.
Lincoln Thede, T.J. Parker and Dan Dieck each had two hits, and Cade Prestigiacomo and Thede both drove in a pair of runs for the Doubledays.
James Heimerl picked up the pitching win for Appleton, giving up one run over four innings, Mason Winkler finished up, allowing two runs in three innings of relief.
Appleton had no shortage of baserunners, picking up 11 hits and 10 walks, while Bay Port also committed five errors.
The Doubledays will host Neenah at Koslo Park in Menasha on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
