Appleton East baseball pounds Appleton North for sixth-straight win

APPLETON – Appleton East scored six times in the opening inning and cruised to a 13-2 win over rival Appleton North in Fox Valley Association baseball action Tuesday at Appleton North High School.
The win for the Patriots is their sixth in a row as they improve to 10-3 overall and 6-2 in the FVA, breaking a third-place tie with Appleton North (8-4, 5-3 FVA).
Mason Winkler had three hits and drove in four runs, and Brandon Tobak and Alex Thompson each had a pair of RBI in the win for East.
Rylan Winkler went the distance in the six-inning win for the Patriots, striking out three and limiting North to four hits.
Logan Hudson and Jackson Skorr drove in runs for the Lightning.
Both teams are back in action Thursday with Appleton North hosting Kaukauna and Appleton East traveling to Fond du Lac for FVA contests.
