Appleton East football trounces Green Bay Southwest in ’25 opener

APPLETON – The Appleton East football team earned a 35-14 win over Green Bay Southwest in its 2025 season opener Thursday night at Pickett Field.

East scored twice in the opening quarter and never trailed.

After each team put up a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter, the Patriots shutout Southwest 7-0 in the second half to finish off the victory.

Game statistics and scoring plays were not reported.

Appleton East will play its final nonconference game on Friday, Aug. 29, at Green Bay Preble.
