Appleton East girls basketball comes from behind to top Laconia for eighth-straight win

APPLETON – The Appleton East girls basketball team overcame a five-point halftime deficit to defeat Laconia 55-44 in a nonconference game Monday night at East High School.
Jenna Ott scored 12 of her game-high 18 points in the second half push for the Patriots, who are now 8-1 and have won eight in a row.
Ella Sweeney added 13 points and Emilia MontMarquette finished with 11 points for East.
Finley Morgan led Laconia (5-6) with 12 points.
Appleton East will play a Fox Valley Association game at Fond du Lac on Tuesday as its busy week continues with four games in six days. The Patriots play at Appleton North Friday and host Eau Claire Memorial on Saturday.
