Appleton East girls basketball rolls to home win over Bay Port

APPLETON – The Appleton East girls basketball team outscored Bay Port by double digits in each half and cruised to a 64-34 victory to pick up its first win of the season Thursday night at East High School.
The Patriots (1-1) pulled out to a 31-17 lead at halftime and knocked down four of their 14 3-pointers early in the second half to build an insurmountable advantage.
Ella Sweeney had 22 points and Emilia MontMarquette added 18 points as each made four 3-pointers for Appleton East. Brooklyn Feller added three 3-pointers to account for all of her nine points as well for the Patriots.
Olivia Williams scored 12 points to lead Bay Port (1-1).
Appleton East returns to action Saturday, Nov. 29, when it takes on Hudson at Kettle Moraine High School as part of the Kettle Moraine Thanksgiving Classic.
