Appleton East girls basketball routs Oshkosh North to stay unbeaten in FVA

APPLETON – The Appleton East girls basketball team pulled out to a 20-point lead in the first half and cruised to a 69-48 win over Oshkosh North at home on Friday to stay undefeated in the Fox Valley Association.

Seven different Patriots scored at least six points in the win as they improve to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the FVA.

Ella Sweeney had 16 points and Ambria Fischer hit three 3-pointers to add nine for Appleton East.

Awut Alic led all scorers with 21 points for Oshkosh North (1-7, 0-5 FVA).

First place in the Fox Valley Association will be on the line Tuesday as Appleton East travels to Neenah (8-1, 5-0 FVA). Game time is 7:30 p.m.
