Appleton East has season end at WIAA Division 1 Winneconne boys golf regional

WINNECONNE – Appleton East placed eighth and had its season come to an end at a WIAA Division 1 boys golf regional on Tuesday at Lake Breeze Golf Course.
The top four teams and top four individuals not on a qualifying team at the regional move on to a D-1 sectional at Old Hickory Golf Course in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, June 4. The top two teams and top three individuals not on a qualifying team at the sectional will qualify for the 2025 WIAA State Boys Golf Championships at University Ridge Golf Club in Madison on June 9-10.
Winneconne and Slinger tied for the team title with scores of 302, one shot better than Fond du Lac. Neenah placed fourth with a 317 as the four teams will head to next week’s sectional in Beaver Dam. Appleton East placed eighth with a 336.
Austin Dobbe of Winneconne, Kamden Rosine of Slinger and Will Mauthe of Fond du Lac tied for medalist honors with even-par 72s.
Earning the four individual sectional berths were Beaver Dam’s Adam Paul, Oshkosh North’s Warren Seeley and Wesley Loewe, and Oshkosh West’s Parker Gerlach, all of whom finished in a tie for 13th place with 79s.
Fox Valley Association champion Owen Lutes led Appleton East with an 82, missing out on a sectional spot by three strokes.
Max VandenLangenberg had an 83, Tyler Bell fired an 84, and Brody Muller and Brayden Nieman each shot 87 as well for the Patriots.
