Appleton East softball drops home game to Oshkosh West

APPLETON – A pair of big innings vaulted Oshkosh West to an 11-1 win over Appleton East in Fox Valley Association softball action Tuesday at Appleton East High School.

The Patriots scored a run in the first inning without a hit as Reese Reichelt walked, moved up on an error and scored on a groundout by Emma Jacobs.

Oshkosh West (9-7, 6-5 FVA) responded with five runs in the second inning and added six more in the third to pull way, holding Appleton East (2-11, 2-9 FVA) scoreless the rest of the way.

Josie Heisler had two of the Patriots’ five hits in the loss.

Appleton East will play at Sunset Park in Kimberly on Thursday.
