Appleton North boys basketball holds off Fond du Lac

APPLETON – The Appleton North boys basketball team held off Fond du Lac 60-55 in a Fox Valley Association game Friday night at Appleton North High School.

Grant Hardy scored a game-high 31 points for the Lightning, who are now 19-3 overall and 15-2 in the Fox Valley Association, remaining in a tie for first place with Kaukauna. Kaukauna defeated Hortonville 87-58 on Friday.

Hardy made seven of eight free throws in the second half as the Lightning finished 15 of 19 at the line down the stretch.

Matthew Rosplochowski added 13 points for the Lightning.

T.J. Johnson led Fond du Lac (7-15, 7-10 FVA) with 13 points.

Appleton North will host Bay Port for a nonconference game Tuesday before playing at Neenah in its final regular season game Thursday. Kaukauna plays at Oshkosh North.
