Appleton North boys basketball uses strong start to blow past Hortonville

HORTONVILLE – The Appleton North boys basketball team pushed its winning streak to an even dozen with an 80-63 victory over Hortonville on Friday at Hortonville High School.
The Lightning jumped out to a big lead early, going ahead 39-18 by halftime, and were able to keep pace with a hot-shooting Hortonville squad in the second half to finish off the 17-point victory.
Matthew Rosplochowski topped North (17-2, 13-1 Fox Valley Association) with 20 points, while Nathan Ramus and Grant Hardy each added 15.
The Lightning finished a robust 21-for-22 from the free throw line in the victory.
Aiden Sweeney led Hortonville (5-14, 4-10 FVA) with 11 points.
Appleton North will be back in action at home next Friday, Feb. 13, against Oshkosh North. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
