Appleton North girls basketball comes from behind to top West De Pere

APPLETON – The Appleton North girls basketball team overcame a six-point halftime deficit to defeat West De Pere 52-49 in a nonconference game to open the 2025-26 season on Tuesday night at North High School.
The Lightning trailed 30-24 at halftime before holding West De Pere to 19 points over the final 18 minutes and were able to pull out the win.
Brooke Schuh hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored all seven of her points in the second-half push for Appleton North.
Avery Werfal had a game-high 18 points and Tay Maass finished with 11 to lead the Lightning.
Clara Hoffman had 15 points to top West De Pere.
Appleton North will host Bay Port for another nonconference game on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
