Appleton North girls basketball cruises past Appleton West

APPLETON – Appleton North charged out to a big lead by halftime and rolled to a 51-14 win over Appleton West in a Fox Valley Association girls basketball game Friday night at North High School.
The Lightning led 32-4 at halftime and maintained the big lead the rest of the way, holding West to just five made field goals in the game.
Avery Werfal had 16 points to lead nine Appleton North players in scoring. The Lightning are now 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the FVA.
Ally Buss had six points for the Terrors (1-3, 0-2 FVA).
Appleton West will play a nonconference game at Sheboygan South on Monday, while North is off until Thursday when it travels to Seymour.
