Appleton North girls land 10 state meet berths at WIAA Division 1 West De Pere track & field sectional

DE PERE – The Appleton North girls had three relay teams and five indviduals qualify in seven events for next week’s state meet at a WIAA Division 1 track & field sectional at West De Pere High School on Friday.
The top three finishers in each event move on to the 2025 WIAA State Track & Field Championships at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on June 6-7.
The Appleton North and Appleton East boys will also have one entry each at state next Friday and Saturday.
Earning sectional titles for the Appleton Norht girls were the 400, 1,600 and 3,200 relay teams, along with four individuals.
The 400-meter relay team of Princess Tomori, Ashley Parrish, Jada Ellis and Emily Thompson won in 48.81 seconds; the 1,600 team of Ashley Parrish, Ellis, Sophie Busch and Ava Helmbrecht weas first in 3:59.71; and the 3,200 team of Eva Busch, Sophie Busch, Helmbrecht and Elise Brazzale won in 9:19.70 for the Lightning.
Eva Busch also picked up a win in the 1,600 (5:03.82), Nora Waddel won the pole vault (11 feet, 6 inches, Ashley Parrish was first in the long jump (18-3½), and Isabel Parrish won the 300 hurdles in 44.91 for the North girls.
Emily Thompson was second in the 100 (12.42), Ashley Parrish took second in the 200 (25.39), and Isabel Parrish was runner-up in the 100 hurdles (14.70) to also cement state meet berths.
Moving on to La Crosse for the North boys was the 3,200 relay team of Teddy Koeling, Jeremy Clark, Lukas Nahm and Jacob McGinn that took third in 8:09.17.
Appleton East’s Collin Hanson also grabbed a spot at state by taking second in the triple jump with a leap of 44-7½.
