Appleton North softball thumps Hortonville

HORTONVILLE – The Appleton North softball team picked up its second-straight Fox Valley Association victory with a 7-2 win over Hortonville on Thursday at Otto Miller Park.

The Lightning scored four times in the fourth inning and three more in the sixth to earn the road win and improve to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the FVA.

Charlotte Radtke struck out 14 and walked two, allowing two runs in the seventh inning before finishing off the victory for Appleton North.

Six different Lightning players had hits, with Lila Griffith going 2-for-4 with four RBI. Tevy Mam and Keira Hughes also had two hits each in the win for North.

Appleton North hosts Appleton West on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
