Appleton Post 38 Legion baseball downs Prairie du Chien to win Black River Falls Tournament title

BLACK RIVER FALLS – The Appleton Post 38 Legion baseball team scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Prairie du Chien Post 68 4-1 on Sunday to win the Black River Falls Legion Tournament.
Post 38 improves to 6-5 this season after winning four games over three days at the tournament.
Logan Hudson drove in a run with a single to break a 1-1 tie in the final frame for Appleton, and Kellen Gilbert followed with a two-run single to center to pad Post 38’s lead.
Owen Wick picked up the win, allowing just one hit and no runs over the final 3 2/3 innings. Logan Gross started, giving up only one run and one hit in 3 1/3 innings for Appleton.
Post 38 will be back in action Monday at Koslo Park in Menasha against the Appleton Doubledays. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
