Appleton Post 38 tops G-E-T to open tournament at Black River Falls

BLACK RIVER FALLS – Levi Watts had three hits and drove in a pair of runs to lead the Appleton Post 38 Legion baseball team to a 7-3 win over Gale-Ettrick-Trempeleau Post 354 on Friday at at the first day of the weekend Black River Falls Tournament.
Logan Hudson also had two hits and two RBI, and Reed Flick had a single, a double and scored three times to pace Appleton (3-5).
Michael Gwiazdon picked up the pitching win, allowing three runs over five innings with seven strikeouts.
Appleton continues play at the tournament with games against Black River Falls at 2 p.m. and Elk Mound at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
