OSHKOSH – The Appleton West baseball team snapped a nine-game losing streak with a come-from-behind 9-8 win over Oshkosh West on Tuesday at Oshkosh West High School.
The Terrors trailed 6-2 before scoring seven runs in the top of the fifth, keyed by two-run singles by Mason Peterson and Loren Georger.
Oshkosh West scored twice in the sixth and had the tying and potential winning runs on base in the seventh before Michael Gwiazdon coaxed a ground ball double play to end the threat and earn the save for the Terrors (2-10, 2-7 Fox Valley Association).
Appleton West smacked out 11 hits, including two each from Georger, Cameron St. John and Alex Hammond.
The Terrors will play at Fox Valley Association-leader Kimberly on Thursday.
