Appleton West boys golf wins team title at Wautoma/Wild Rose Invitational

WAUTOMA – Austin Arizola won medalist honors with a 74 to lead Appleton West to the team title at the Wautoma/Wild Rose Boys Golf Invitational on Friday at Waushara Country Club.

Appleton West finished with a team score of 310, nine shots better than Kaukauna. Appleton East finished third with a 320 and Appleton North brought its JV squad and took 11th with a 379.

Arizola won by two strokes over the Kaukauna duo of Sam Hussin and Jonah Roehrig at the 16-team meet.

Lucas Downs tied for fifth with a 78 and Prestynn Evers tied for seventh with a 79 to help the Terrors to the title.

Owen Lutes had a 77 to finish fourth, Brayden Nieman tied for 10th with an 80, and Landon Hill shot an 81 for Appleton East.

Gordy Cole fired an 89 to lead the Appleton North JV squad.

Appleton East, Appleton North and Appleton West will all compete at the Appleton City Meet, along with Xavier and Fox Valley Lutheran, at North Shore Golf Club on Monday.
