OSHKOSH – The Appleton West boys swimming co-op finished sixth overall and won three events at the Wildcat Invitational on Saturday at Oshkosh West High School.

The Appleton West co-op, which includes swimmers from Appleton West, Kimberly, Kaukauna and Hortonville high schools, kicked off the meet by winning the 200-yard medley relay. The team Ethan Pasholk (AW), Hayden Hollenbeck (Kimberly), Ethan Shalkhauser (Kaukauna) and Ethan Bruce (Hortonville) held off Bay Port to win in a time of 1:43.35. The four-some also placed third in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:31.80.

Pasholk also earned wins in the 500 freestyle in 4:56.68 and 100 breaststroke in 1:00.94.

Hollenbeck finished fourth in the 200 individual medley in 2:06.93 and Bruce was fourth in the 100 freestyle in 52.94 seconds as well for the AW co-op.

Bay Port won all of the other events in route to a dominant victory.

“This meet is always a fun way to start off our season,” Appleton West co-op coach Joe Heiser said. “It’s a good check in with where we are conditioning wise and how we stack up with other teams in our area. We had a ton of guys competing for the first time ever today, and I couldn’t be more proud of the passion and energy they brought to the pool deck today.”

The AW co-op returns to action on Tuesday at Neenah for their first Fox Valley Association dual of the season. They then host their home invite, the Terror Relays on Friday at the Zepka Aquatic Center.
