Appleton West Co-op boys swim team wins two events at McFarland

McFARLAND – The Appleton West Co-op boys swim team won three events and earned its first dual win of the season at the McFarland Triple-Dual on Friday night at McFarland High School.

In the dual scoring format, Appleton West defeated Monona Grove 89.5-82.5 and lost to McFarland 115-64.

Ethan Pasholk won the 100-yard backstroke in 54.07 seconds and Hayden Hollenbeck was first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.00 for Appleton West.

Pasholk also finished second in the 200 individual medley in 1:58.68, Ethan Bruce took second in the 100 butterfly in 57.18 seconds, and Hollenbeck was second in the 100 freestyle in 51.57 seconds for West.

Appleton West’s 200 freestyle relay team of Pasholk, Ethan Shalkhauser, Bruce and Hollenbeck (1:34.66) and the 400 freestyle relay team of Bruce, Bauer Seefeldt, Emerson Middendorp and Pasholk (3:47.82) also earned runner-up finishes.

The Appleton West Co-op is back in action Tuesday, Jan. 6, for a Fox Valley Association dual at Oshkosh North/Lourdes.
