Appleton West Co-op boys swimming defeats Oshkosh West in final FVA dual of season

APPLETON – Appleton West/Hortonville/ Kaukauna/Kimberly won the final race of the dual, the 400-meter freestyle relay, and defeated Oshkosh West 90-86 in the final Fox Valley Association boys swimming dual of the season Tuesday at Appleton West High School.

The Terrors team of Ethan Pasholk, Ethan Shalkhauser, Emerson Middendorp and Ethan Bruce won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:58.89 to pull out the one-point win.

The Terrors won nine of the 11 races, with Pasholk and Bruce each earning a pair of individual wins.

Pasholk won the 200 freestyle (2:03.65) and the 400 freestyle (4:29.47), while Bruce took first in both the 50 freestyle (26.28 seconds) and the 100 butterfly (1:03.81).

Other winners for the Appleton West Co-op were Middendorp in the 100 backstroke (1:06.37), Hollenbeck in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.95), the 200 freestyle relay team of Hollenbeck, Bauer Seefeldt, Ethan Shalkhauser and Bruce (1:51.77), and the 200 medley relay team of Pasholk, Hollenbeck, Middendorp and Seefeldt (1:58.67).

The Appleton West Co-op finishes the FVA regular season with a 3-2 dual record, while Oshkosh West finishes tied with Appleton North/East for first place at 4-1.

The Appleton West Co-op will participate at the Madison West Diving Invitational and Middleton Swimming Invitational on Saturday to close out its regular season. The Fox Valley Association Meet is Feb. 6 (diving) and Feb. 7 (swimming) at Fond du Lac.
