Appleton West Co-op wins six events, ties Appleton North/East for fifth at Lightning Invitational

APPLETON – The Appleton West/Hortonville/Kaukauna/Kimberly boys swimming Co-op won six events and tied for fifth with Appleton North/Appleton East at the Lightning Invitational on Friday at Appleton North High School.

Ethan Pasholk and Hayden Hollenbeck won all four events they swam in for the Appleton West Co-op as the Terrors took six of the 11 events at the nine-team meet.

Pasholk won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:00.34 and the 500 freestyle in 4:58.15, and Hollenbeck was first in the 100 freestyle in 50. 65 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.87 for Appleton West. The two also teamed with Emerson Middendorp and Ethan Bruce to win both the 200 medley relay (1:42.09) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:21.11).

Arthur Skorr placed fourth in the 500 freestyle (5:14.40) and Abram Hansen was fifth in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.41) for Appleton North/East’s top individual finishes.

Green Bay United won the team title with 375 points, just ahead of Oregon, which had 340. Appleton North/East and the Appleton West Co-op tied for fifth with 257 points.

The Appleton West Co-op will travel to the Neenah Invitational on Saturday, and both teams are back in action for Fox Valley Association duals on Tuesday as North/East is at Oshkosh West and Appleton West hosts Fond du Lac.
