Bay Port rallies in second half to top Appleton United girls lacrosse

SUAMICO – The Appleton United girls lacrosse team could not hold on to a halftime lead and dropped a 7-5 decision to Bay Port in a Bay Valley Conference game Friday at Bay Port High School.
Appleton is now 4-7 overall and 2-3 in the Bay Valley Conference, while Bay Port moves to 5-3 and 2-3 in conference play.
Appleton led 4-3 at halftime but only scored twice in the second half to drop the road contest.
Elizabeth VanRyzin, Kailey Heindel and Riley Harris accounted for Appleton’s goals. Talia Bellotti led the defense with five ground balls, and goalies Morgan Muntner had five and Addison Grasse three saves, respectively.
Appleton hosts Neenah at Appleton North High School on Monday at 6 p.m.
