Bay Port runs past Appleton West football

APPLETON – Bay Port scored six first-half touchdowns and cruised to a 62-26 win over Appleton West in a Fox River Valley Conference North Division football game Thursday night at Appleton West High School.

Brady Moon had 159 yards rushing and two touchdowns, and quarterback Matt Stevens threw for three scores and ran for another for the Pirates (3-1, 2-0 FRVC North).

Appleton West quarterback Connor Nevis had a big night as well, throwing for 356 yards and four touchdowns, two to Chase Verboomen and one each to Parrion Peace and Bennett Nelson.

Charlie Blevins grabbed six catches for 84 yards, and Verboomen had 109 yards on four receptions for the Terrors (2-2, 0-2 FRVC North).

Scoring plays were not reported.

Appleton West will host Green Bay Southwest for another conference game on Friday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m.
