Fond du Lac attack proves too much for Appleton North baseball

APPLETON – A nine-run third inning broke open a close game for Fond du Lac as it rolled to a 16-5 win over Appleton North in a Fox Valley Association baseball game Friday at North High School.
The teams exchanged three-run first innings before the Cardinals pulled away, scoring twice in the second inning and nine times in the third as they improve to 9-7 overall and 5-6 in the FVA.
The Lightning (9-5, 6-4 FVA) was held to five hits, with Teegan Karpinske driving in a pair of runs with a single in the first inning.
Appleton North heads to Oshkosh West for an FVA game on Tuesday.
