Fond du Lac cruises past Appleton West baseball

APPLETON – The Appleton West baseball team suffered its ninth-straight loss, falling 8-1 to Fond du Lac in a Fox Valley Association matchup Monday at the Nienhaus Sports Complex.

Fond du Lac (8-6, 3-5 FVA) scored multiple runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings to pull away for the victory.

Jack Brenner and Greyson Wenger each had three hits, with Brenner scoring four times for the Cardinals.

Michael Gwiazdon had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in the lone run for Appleton West (1-10, 1-7 FVA). Dimity Edmunds also had two hits for the Terrors, who were limited to five in the game.

Appleton West will play at Oshkosh West on Tuesday.
