Fox Cities Stars boys hockey surges past Sheboygan in WIAA regional final

APPLETON – The No. 4 seed Fox Cities Stars scored twice in the third period to pull past No. 5 Sheboygan 5-3 in a WIAA Division 1 boys hockey regional final Friday night at the Community First Champion Center.
Jake Koller tied the game with a goal with 2:28 to go in the second period, and Quinn Murphy and Weston Beyer had goals in the third to give the Stars to win and send them to sectionals.
Elliot Reichenbacher had 24 saves in goal for Fox Cities, which is now 21-4 this season.
Camden Collins and Kellan Murphy also scored goals for the Stars.
The Stars will play No. 1 seed Neenah/Hortonville/Menasha (20-5) in a Division 1 sectional semifinal Tuesday at the Champion Center.
