Fox Valley Lutheran boys win six titles, Xavier girls take three events at WIAA Division 2 track regional

LITTLE CHUTE – The Fox Valley Lutheran boys had six champions and the Xavier girls netted three titles at a WIAA Division 2 track & field regional at Little Chute High School on Tuesday.
The top four finishers in each event qualify for a Division 2 sectional at Marinette on Friday. The top four in each event at the sectional moves on to the 2025 WIAA State Track & Field Championships on June 6-7 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Overall, Fox Valley Lutheran will be sending 17 and Xavier eight to the sectional on Friday.
Kaleb Williams and Jacob Dobberstein each will be heading to sectionals in three events after capturing regional titles for the FVL boys. Williams won the 100 meters in 10.88 seconds and the 200 in 22.02, Dobberstein took first in both the 300 hurdles (39.37) and triple jump (43 feet), and the duo teamed with Ian Holmes and Tyler Dequaine to win the 800-meter relay in 1:29.58.
Dequaine also won the long jump with a leap of 21-8 for the Foxes’ other regional title.
Also moving on for the Fox Valley Lutheran boys are Blessings Kapande in the long jump (second, 21-7¼), Grant Wolfrath in the 110 hurdles (third, 16.16) and Zachary Muenster in the 800 (fourth, 2:01.63).
The team of Hailey Hafner, Faith Hafner, Caroline Basehoar and Lauren Erickson won both the girls 800 relay (1:44.49) and 400 relay (49.35) for the Xavier girls.
Basehoar also picked up a win in the pole vault (11-6), and will be joined at sectionals by the Hawks’ 1,600 relay team of Lily Renz, Grace Hackl, Bernice Geurts and Erickson (4:18.61), Faith Hafner in the 100 (third, 12.66), Renz in the 400 (third, 1:02.57), and Emerson Huebner (second, 52.39) and Makenzie Ness (third, 52.78) in the 300 hurdles.
The Xavier boys lone sectional qualifier is Wyatt Rouamba, who placed third in the triple jump (41-9).
The Fox Valley Lutheran girls had all four of its relay teams and three individuals qualify for sectionals in four events.
FVL’s Claire Fischer placed second in the 400 (59.69) and third in the 800 (2:27.15), and was part of the 1,600 relay team, along with Amethyst Holmes, Grace Dunke and Sophia Wunderlich, that placed third in 4:12.39.
Mya Burleton took third in the 200 (26.29), Kaiya Wheaton was fourth int eh 300 hurdles (54.01), the 800 relay team of Alaina Patchett, Cailyn Groth, Burleton and Wunderlich took second in 1:45.22, the 3,200 team of Rowen Volhard, Anna Fuerstahler, Madeline Zuelsdorf and Carys Wendland finished fourth in 10:37.80, and the 400 relay team of Groth, Brooklyn Jokubek, Zuzanna Masinesko and Maya Van Schyndel finished third in 50.47 to also move on to the sectional meet for the Foxes.
