Hortonville shuts out Appleton East boys soccer

APPLETON – The Appleton East boys soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Hortonville in a Fox Valley Association boys soccer match Tuesday night at Pickett Field at East High School.

Wesley Barker and Fenton Hirschi scored goals for Hortonville, which stays unbeaten at 6-0-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the FVA. Caleb Schewe and Evan Langkan assisted on the goals.

Jack Benz made three saves in goal for Appleton East (2-2-1, 1-1-1 FVA), while Hortonville goalkeeper Grant Decker had to make just two saves in the victory.

Appleton East is back in action Thursday at Oshkosh North. Game time is 7 p.m.
