KAUKAUNA – Taron Seghers hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning for the game’s only runs as Kaukauna shut out Appleton West 3-0 in a Fox Valley Association baseball game Thursday at Kaukauna High School.
Appleton West’s Loren Georger and Kaukauna’s Bron Schaefer matched zeroes, with Georger going seven innings with 10 strikeouts.
The Terrors was held to three hits, all singles by Georger, Cameron St. John and Dominic Ruzzicone, but couldn’t push across a run.
In the bottom of the eighth against West reliever Beau Brown, Kyle Kress singled and moved up to second on a bunt. After an intentional walk, Seghers drilled a home run to center to seal the win for the Ghosts (10-8, 6-6 FVA).
