Kimberly holds off Appleton United boys lacrosse, clinches Bay Valley title

KIMBERLY – Appleton United fell behind early and could not recover, dropping a hard-fought 6-5 decision to Kimberly in a battle of Bay Valley Conference boys lacrosse leaders on Monday night at Kimberly High School.
With the win, Kimberly improves to 11-4 overall and 6-0 in the Bay Valley Conference, clinching the title. Appleton falls to 10-5 and finishes at 6-2 in the conference.
Kimberly pulled out to an early 4-1 lead and held Appleton United back enough at the end to hold on for the one-goal win.
Trevin Schultz scored twice, and Sam Stillwell, Roen Willis and Jaylen Kempfer each added a goal for Appleton.
Appleton United will play a nonconference game at Kettle Moraine at Friday.
