Kimberly slugs past Appleton Post 38 Legion baseball

KIMBERLY – Kimberly scored in each of its five at-bats and defeated Appleton Post 38 11-1 in an American Legion baseball game Tuesday at Sunset Park. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Don Hawkins Field.
Post 38 (7-8) had six hits, two by Jack Kangas, but only mustered one run in the loss.
Appleton’s only run came in the third inning when Logan Hudson singled home Reed Flick.
Brady Merzlicker had a pair of doubles and drove in four to lead the offensive attack for Kimberly (5-7).
Post 38 will be back in action Saturday at home against Racine starting at 1:30 p.m. in a triangular. Racine and Kimberly will play at 4:30 p.m., with Appleton and Kimberly taking each other on again at 7:30 p.m.
