Kimberly smacks five homers, no-hits Appleton West in D-1 softball regional semifinal

KIMBERLY – Kimberly’s Isabella Elstead and Zoey Thayer combined on a five-inning no-hitter and the Papermakers ripped five home runs in a 15-0 win over Appleton West in a WIAA Division 1 softball regional semifinal on Tuesday at Sunset Park.
The No. 5 seed Kimberly (15-9) moves on to a regional final at No. 4 De Pere (19-8) on Thursday. Appleton West ends its season with a 2-19 record.
Breckan Luedke and Sophie Hermus each hit two home runs, and Paige Schreck added another long ball for the Papermakers.
Elstead struck out four and Thayer one in the no-hit bid for Kimberly.
