New London jumps on Xavier early, cruises to Bay Conference softball win

APPLETON – New London scored six runs in the first two innings and went on to defeat Xavier 8-3 in a Bay Conference softball game Tuesday at Xavier High School.

Eve Hedtke hit a home run and Aubree Schmude drove in three for New London (5-11, 3-6 Bay Conference).

Xavier was held to six hits, two each from Kalia Stammer and Morgan Staszak as the Hawks drop to 9-7 overall and 5-6 in conference play.

Xavier will host Seymour on Thursday to wrap up its regular-season schedule.
