Oshkosh West holds off Appleton East baseball

APPLETON – Oshkosh West used a six-run fifth inning to pull ahead and held off a late rally to top Appleton East 10-8 in Fox Valley Association baseball action Friday at Appleton East High School.
After the Wildcats (8-9, 4-7 FVA) scored three times in the seventh inning to take a 10-6 lead, Appleton East tried to rally in its final at-bat.
Jackson Bines-Sabrowsky had an RBI triple and scored on a groundout by Daniel Dieck before Oshkosh West was able to get the final out to end the threat.
Cade Prestigiacomo had two hits and two RBI, and Dieck and Alex Thompson also drove in two runs each for Appleton East (10-5, 6-4 FVA).
Appleton East will host Green Bay Notre Dame for a nonconference game Monday at 4:30 p.m.
