Seymour holds off late surge to defeat Xavier in Bay Conference boys basketball battle

SEYMOUR – The Xavier boys basketball team had undefeated Seymour on the ropes, but the Thunder extended their winning streak to 13 with a 79-75 victory Tuesday night at Seymour High School.

The Hawks fought back from a 12-point halftime deficit to make a game of it late, but fell just short and drops to 9-5 overall and 5-3 in the Bay Conference. Seymour is now 13-0 and 9-0 in the Bay.

Xavier stayed in the game with its 3-point shooting, knocking down 14 shots from long range. Kyler Bleck had five 3s and scored 22 points, while Logan Ramczyk led the Hawks with 23 points and nine assists.

Isaac Feske had 18 points, and Kyler Marks netted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds for Seymour.

Xavier is off until next Tuesday, Jan. 27, when it hosts Green Bay West.
