APPLETON – Fox Valley Lutheran scored twice in the final 13 minutes as the Foxes pulled out a 2-1 win over Appleton North in a nonconference boys soccer game Saturday afternoon at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
Justus Vang scored on the first shot of the game for either team, nailing a goal just 3:31 into the contest to give Appleton North a quick 1-0 lead.
That held for the next 64 minutes of game time before Kaleb Williams scored off an assist from Ezra Schaser to tie it with 12:14 to go.
Just four minutes later, the roles reversed as Williams past to Schaser, who knocked in what proved to be the game-winner with 8:20 left in regulation.
Both goalkeepers made five saves – Ben Wilke for Appleton North (4-5-1) and Justin Miller for FVL (7-3-1).
The Foxes will take their four-game winning streak into a Bay Conference match at New London on Thursday.
Appleton North, losers of five straight after a 4-0-1 start to the season, is back in action Tuesday at Oshkosh North.
