Undefeated Kaukauna shuts out Appleton North softball

KAUKAUNA – Kaukauna pitcher Karly Meredith limited Appleton North to two hits as the Ghosts shut out the Lightning 10-0 in a Fox Valley Association softball game Monday at Kaukauna High School.

The game was scoreless until the fourth when the Ghosts scored twice. Kaukauna (10-0, 6-0 FVA) added two more runs in the fifth and finished off the game by the 10-run rule with a six-run sixth inning.

Charlotte Radtke struck out nine over five innings in the circle for Appleton North (4-6, 3-4 FVA). Alyssa Wald had a double for one of North’s two hits in the loss.

Appleton North will travel to Neenah on Tuesday. Game time is 5 p.m.
