APPLETON – West De Pere held Xavier to just two hits and defeated the Hawks 9-1 in a Bay Conference baseball game Thursday at Don Hawkins Field.
West De Pere (5-7, 4-5 Bay Conference) put up seven runs in the first two innings and rode the arms of three pitchers the rest of the way.
Matthew Potter knocked in the only run for Xavier (6-8, 3-6 Bay) in the sixth inning with a single.
The Hawks have now lost three games in a row following a six-game inning streak.
Xavier plays at Menasha on Monday before hosting the Bluejays on Tuesday.
