Winneconne runs past Xavier boys basketball

APPLETON – Winneconne put up 60 points in the second half to pull away and defeat Xavier 97-78 in a Bay Conference boys basketball game Tuesday at Xavier High School.

The Hawks trailed 37-31 at halftime before Winneconne blew the game open with a dominant second-half offensive explosion.

The Wolves finished 19-for-22 from the free throw line and had three players scoring 22 or more points. Parker Ingles was a perfect 9 of 9 at the line and had 27 points, Drew Lenz added 23, and Brody Schaffer made four 3-pointers and put in 22 points for Winneconne (15-7, 9-5 Bay Conference).

Logan Ramczyk had 32 points, eight rebounds and six assists to pace Xavier, which drops to 14-7 and 9-4 in the Bay. Kyler Bleck added 16 points and Grant Neuman finished with 13.

The Hawks were just 13 of 26 at the free throw line.

Xavier will play at crosstown rival Fox Valley Lutheran on Friday at 7 p.m.
