Xavier boys soccer outlasts Fox Valley Lutheran

APPLETON – Xavier handed Fox Valley Lutheran its first Bay Conference loss of the season, outlasting the Foxes 2-1 in a boys soccer match Thursday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.

Xavier is now 3-4 overall and 2-0 in the Bay Conference, while Fox Valley Lutheran falls to 3-2-1 and 2-1 in conference play.

Xavier’s Bryce Nielet sscored in the 31st minute and took a 1-0 lead into halftime before adding another score from Paul Masteride15:36 into the second half.

Fox Valley Lutheran’s J.J. Minzlaff scored off an assist from Ezra Schaser in the 69th minute but the Foxes could not get any closer.

Keaton Enter made 11 saves in goal for FVL.

Xavier will play Kewaskum and St. Lawrence Seminary at Sheboygan Falls on Saturday, while Fox Valley Lutheran will also play a nonconference game at home against Hortonville on Saturday at 1 p.m.
