Xavier football drops home opener to Luxemburg-Casco

APPLETON – Luxemburg-Casco running back Cameron Dorner ran for 147 yareds and two touchdowns to lead the Spartans to a 35-7 win over Xavier in a nonconference football game Friday at Xavier High School.
Brayden Loritz added two rushing touchdowns, and Mason Trimberger hauled in seven passes for 114 yards and another score as Luxemburg-Casco improves to 2-0.
Xavier (1-1) was held to 178 total yards, all on the ground. Ben Kappell had five carries for 70 yards and scored the Hawks’ only touchdown in the fourth quarter as L-C had built up a 35-7 lead.
Xavier will host Fox Valley Lutheran to open the Bay Conference season on Friday, Sept. 5, for the annual Apple Bowl. Game time is 7 p.m. at Rocky Bleier Field.
