Xavier girls basketball pulls off road win at crosstown rival Fox Valley Lutheran

APPLETON – The Xavier girls basketball team hit six 3-pointers and held off a late push to defeat Fox Valley Lutheran 48-43 in a Bay Conference matchup Friday night at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
The Hawks pulled ahead 25-17 at halftime and held on from there, despite being outscored by three in the second half.
Brynn Krull and Hailey Hafner each scored 12 points, and Chloe Pfefferle had three 3-pointers and 11 points for Xavier, which improves to 11-3 overall and 7-1 in the Bay Conference and remains one-half game behind Winneconne for the conference lead.
Kinley Peterson nailed five 3-pointers and had a game-high 19 points for Fox Valley Lutheran (10-4, 5-3 Bay Conference).
Both teams play Bay Conference games on Tuesday as Xavier hosts Seymour and FVL travels to Green Bay East.
