Xavier girls basketball uses strong start to defeat The Prairie School

APPLETON – The Xavier girls basketball team dominated the first half to open up a big lead and held off The Prairie School of Racine the rest of the way, winning a nonconference game 57-46 on Saturday afternoon at Xavier High School.
Xavier (14-4) pulled out to a 31-12 lead by halftime and were able to finish off the win.
Hailey Hafner scored 21 points, Brynn Krull added 18 and Kayla Standish finished with 10 for Xavier.
Tessa Collum led The Prairie School (9-8) with 12 points.
Xavier is back in action Monday at New London, the first of three road games in four days. Xavier will also play at Green Bay East on Tuesday and Mosinee on Thursday.
